For wine lovers, all roads will surely lead to the grandiose Imvelo Safari Lodge for the inaugural Annual Wine Festival set to be held on Saturday, 03 November.
According to Imvelo Safari Lodge Marketing Manager, Clemence Dutiro, all is set for the event that is likely to see the who-is-who’s of Bloemfontein leaving the hustle and bustle of the City of Roses for the tranquil environment that is synonymous with the lodge.
“All is set for the Annual Wine Festival. Tickets are already on sale at Computicket and we are just tying a few loose ends to ensure that come Saturday, everything will be running smoothly,” explained Dutiro.
Held in partnership with Mercedes Benz, John William’s Motors, Bidfood, Vodacom, OFM and the Free State Department of Economic, Small businesses, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA), the Wine Fest will offer guests a chance to test a variety of wines under the Bidfood winery range. They will also be charmed by good food and service that is fast becoming a trademark of Imvelo.
“We are encouraging people to come for the Wine Fest and sample what Imvelo has to offer. This is not just about wine tasting but it is a chance for us to announce our presence in the tourism market. The event will be featured on radio as OFM will be making cross-overs from time to time. So if you are looking for a good time, then the Wine Fest is the place to be,” Dutiro urged.
Tickets are being sold at R300 per person and this includes a meal. According to Dutiro, an attendance of about 300 people who will also be treated to entertainment from a live jazz band, among other attractions, is expected.
Meanwhile, Dutiro revealed that Imvelo Safari Lodge has set itself a target of claiming a 40 percent share of the Free State tourism industry sector by next year. Considering the products and services on offer at the lodge, this is not a far-fetched idea.
Imvelo currently offers a host of top-of-the-range facilities such as exquisitely furnished standard and executive rooms, a breathtaking garden with swimming pool, game drives, restaurant facilities, bar facility as well as conference facilities. The lodge boasts of one of the province’s biggest conference facility with a carrying capacity of 800 delegates.
“We are still in the process of adding more services as we seek to be the ultimate tourism destination. We will soon be adding a cultural village, golf facility, a picnic venue, hostel facility for students to come as well as adding speed boats and canoeing. We also intend to add a wine cellar where next year’s edition of the Wine Fest will be held,” revealed the Marketing Manager.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s Wine Fest is expected to roar into life at 1500Hrs until late in the evening.
