Breaking the status quo among the young and challenging them to go beyond the borders of their text books is what co-founder and director of the A&M Foundation, Margo Fargo, aspires to do.
Born in Heidedal, Bloemfontein some 25years ago, Margo was one of the 12 finalists for the Miss South Africa (SA) 2018. Being one of the hair influencers in South Africa for a popular natural hair brand, Shea Moisture, she broke boundaries and aroused interest from the audience by being the only model rocking a natural Afro on a national platform.
Margo’s journey in the beauty industry has been nothing short of phenomenal. Before entering the Miss SA 2018 pageant, Margo was the Miss Free State, 1st Princess in 2013, Miss Earth SA Ambassador for 2014, Miss Mamelodi Sundowns, 1st Princess for the 2015/16 and was also in the Top 3 for the South African MUD: Maven makeup in 2016.
Margo’s post Miss SA 2018 journey is paved with an intention to influence more people, build more sustainable businesses and have a heart to give back without expecting anything in return.
“Be patient enough to know that you are not a product of your circumstances. If your dream or goal feels out of reach, work every single day to get there. While you wait, PRAY,” said Margo.
A Bsc. Consumer Science Honours graduate, Fargo’s is driven by her favourite saying by Wayne Dyer; “My circumstances do not make me what I am, they reveal who I have chosen to be.”
