Bon Hotel brings out the good feeling

By Chamu Wilson

True to their motto, Bon Hotel Bloemfontein Central, formerly Protea Hotel, has set itself apart from similar hospitality outlets in the Free State capital as it seeks to bring out the good feeling in clients.

Starting with a personalised welcome poster in the foyer of the hotel to a uniquely intimate welcome card penned in the general manager, Pieter van Rooyen’s own handwriting, Bon Hotel surely knows how to tickle that sensitive nerve somewhere in the mind of the guest in a way that never fails to set off that good feeling that manifests itself into a satisfied wide smile.

Nestled right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the city, the chilled tranquil environment of Bon Hotel offers a truly relaxing contrast. The recently upgraded facilities offer just the perfect aura of a “home-away-from-home” atmosphere.

The hotel offers a variety of air conditioned room options to suit the varied needs of guests, from twin rooms, to standard, family, superior as well as suites. All rooms are equipped with bar fridges, a work desk, 16-channel DSTV on flat screen TV set as well as an electronic safe, among other things.

The hotel also boasts of a secure undercover parking with a carrying capacity of 210vehicles.

With four conference rooms of different sizes, Bon Hotel also stands ready to take care of the corporate needs of clients. Wi-fi accessibility will ensure that the guest continues to enjoy business or personal communication in the comfort of the hotel.

“We can design the meeting rooms to the client’s preference ranging from the U-shape, cocktail, banqueting, schoolroom, cinema or boardroom designs. Each of our six forums has different carrying capacities with the largest one being able to accommodate 420 guests,” explained the Customer Relations Executive, Charlize Badenhorst.

Due to the hotel’s central location, the outdoor type of guest can easily access such attractions as the National Museum, the Bloemfontein zoo, the golf course, Free State Stadium, the Botanical Gardens, the Cheetah Experience as well as the President Swart Park.

“This hotel has hosted so many high profile people which include former President Nelson Mandela. All their pictures are found on the Wall of Fame,” said Badenhorst with a proud smile.
